So the government has set a date of 2025 where no gas will be allowed in new build properties. This is a great idea, we need to reduce our carbon footprint to protect the remaining wildlife and environment but is all electric the way to go?
There is an exciting new technology that Worcester Bosch are working on at the moment, Hydrogen. This looks like it could solve all of our problems, it can be used in the existing gas pipe network (MDPE plastic pipes only) and the only by-product is water when burned. This will allow us to still cook on gas and heat our homes quickly and to the same temperatures we are all used to.
Renewable technologies certainly have their place and I think they are great but if they can produce the hydrogen in a cost effective and carbon neutral manner then that really must be the future.
